Test Flight a Huge Success!
August 22, 2008
A small group of stakeholders waited anxiously for the first international arrival of Delta Air Lines at the Canadian Rockies International Airport on Tuesday, August 19. They didn’t have to wait long! In fact, the sleek, newly painted 50 passenger jet arrived early!
Capt. Brent Wilson and a handful of other Delta crew members stepped out of the aircraft and were met by a supportive crowd of local media, FlyYXC Alliance Society Members and “interested others”. The pilot, co-pilot and technical crew answered questions with finesse, and toured onlookers through the Canadian-made CRJ200 (a Bombardier craft).
Marissa Snow, Manager of Corporate Communications for SkyWest (the largest regional carrier in the US, contracted by Delta to operate this service) noted “Today’s flight was a technical evaluation of the market, doing multiple approaches, gaining some footage for approach training and evaluating the terrain surrounding the airport”. Because they arrived early, they had plenty of time for “touch & go’s”, trying out different approaches.
No doubt, it was an historic day at the Canadian Rockies International Airport!
